Another one of the great have left us. Isao Takahata died yesterday leaving behind some true classics in the world of Cinema. Together with Miyazaki he changed anime long before Ghibli opened its doors.
I mourn and remember his sense of humanity and nostalghia in Only Yesterday. His humor in The neighbors Yamada's and Pom poko.
The bitter sweet joy and sorrows of life found in The Grave of the Fireflies and The tale of Princess Kaguya.
All his works combined the joys and sorrows in life, creating something truly beautiful that won't be forgotten anytime soon.
The place for all non-Hirano-related discussions.
