I just saw this and I thought this could be interesting.

No idea if this is an original story or based of some kind of novel.

This is what once was "Dracula year zero". This morning had been in plans for years now and they finAlly got around to get to a stable director and finally got made. It's supposed to be a movie about Vlad's life or something, I can't wait to see how badly they butcher it. He needs the moustache, why isn't there a moustache? !

Legendary pictures just released a trailer for this movie:

What do you think?

I'm surprised to find another vampire blooding him.
Apparently Dracula is not really the "first" vampire in this storyline.
So why the catch copy "every bloodline has a beginning", when he is not the beginning of the whole vampire thing.
Really stupid and a bit of a letdown, imo.

I really like the trailer :)
Even though the story is a little bit far away from Bram Stoker's original story but it seems to be very entertaining!
Especially the whole war thing

It's too early to judge, but I already know I won't like it much.

I agree with Vladucard. Although it's too early to judge I don't think I will like the movie. I have read Bram Stoker's novel many times and dissected it in a college course a few years ago. It is VERY hard to translate this powerful novel to film. Many have tried, none have succeeded.

Tell me, are there mentions of specific details of Dracula's background inside Bram Stoker's novel?

There are many references to his background but they are all open to interpretation. I remember my Professor arguing that Vlad had a brother who betrayed him and brought slavery upon his people. There are also notations in the novel as to his reign of terror after his father and brother were murdered. I will dig up my notes from the course and post details soon.

Well, this movie isnt based on the novel, it's just a different take on how Vlad became a vampire. As for your notes, I'd be interested to read them. I did the same in my 11th grade English class (im 25 now, lol), so I don't have my notes and barely remember anything from then. I need to re-read the novel.
